Start with the boundary
A drawdown limit is not spare capital to spend. Treat it as the outer boundary around a much smaller working risk budget.
Write down the maximum loss, the calculation method and when the value resets or trails. If any of those details are unclear, stop and read the program terms before trading.
Build a smaller operating budget
Divide the evaluation into ordinary trading days and decide how much of the overall limit you are prepared to expose in one day. Then define a smaller amount for each idea.
This is not a universal formula. The point is to make the next action predictable before a losing sequence tests your judgment.
Define the stop conditions
Set a daily stop, a maximum number of attempts and a rule for correlated positions. A good plan tells you when you are finished, not only when you may enter.
